Poor Nastya is a Russian telenovela originally aired from 31 October 2003 to 30 April 2004 on the STS. Based on the imperial setting of the 19th century, the series reached international success and was shown in Ukraine, China, Israel, Serbia, Georgia, Greece, Bulgaria and more than twenty countries worldwide. With the budget of $11,8million, it is the most expensive Russian television project of all time. The sequel was planned, but had not been made yet.

Nadezhda is basking in happiness, as she is with her loved ones: her son Kostya and Max, with whom she plans to marry soon. But new trials await, as Max is accused of a serious crime. Nadya refuses to believe it and tries with all her might to prove her beloved's innocence. Meanwhile, her own life is in grave danger.

Within one day, Alice's life changes. Her husband, prosecutor of the Leningrad region Pyotr Filippov, becomes the hero of several high-profile scandals. The reputation he had built for so long was destroyed. Now Alice must provide for the whole family herself. Years later, she returns to her legal career and begins work in the law firm of her university friend Vitaly Kalinin.
