During the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, in the legendary match between Argentina and England, Diego Maradona scored two unforgettable goals in a game that meant more than sport for a nation scarred by the Falklands War. Decades later, when the jersey he used in the match is auctioned, a humble kit man shaped by profound loss sets out on a final journey that forces him to confront his past and his broken relationship with his daughter.

On July 19–21, 2001, over 200,000 people took to the streets of Genoa to protest against the ongoing G8 summit. Luz's goal is to regain custody of her son, who is under the care of Malvina (Maite Zumelzú), Luz's sister-in-law who hates her and who has schizophrenia problems. Among so much complicity, Francisco and Luz fall madly in love.
