In a remote village in Karelia, Sergeant Vaskov commands an anti-aircraft unit that protects a rail depot. The prince (now a nutcracker) finds hope in the form of a girl who risks everything to help him become real again, while the mouse-king and his armies do everything they can to steal the magic for themselves.

Polish schoolboy Janek, and Russian girl Tanya are traveling by a plane which ended up in the hands of a gang of drug dealers headed by ex Nazi criminal Henrich Scharf.

The author's remake of the famous New Year's comedy is not an exact copy of the original. Festive mess in the same House of Culture, where they celebrated the New Year 50 years ago. Now the institution is named after Ogurtsov and is headed by Mr. Kabachkov. A young enthusiast Alyona Krylatova and a young man Denis Kolechkin work in the recreation center. Alyona, as she can, opposes the "arts" of the bureaucrat and opportunist Kabachkov, and Denis helps her.
