The Earth Wins explores the delicate balance between man and Mother Earth, our inter-dependence and the impact of man's actions upon the earth and her inhabitants. With music from Coldplay, The Temper Trap, New Order, indigenous musicians, and commissioned choral pieces, The Earth Wins is a visceral experience celebrating the magnificent diversity of the earth's riches and asking the most important questions of all, "How do we save ourselves from causing the planet's destruction?"

New Order's first concert in the United States. Recorded at the Hurrah nightclub in New York City on September 26, 1981. It took place just four months after former Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis took his own life, an event that forced the remaining members to change the group's name to "New Order." This performance captures the band's early days under this new identity, without Gillian Gilbert (keyboards/guitar) and prior to the release of their debut album, "Movement".

An examination into Factory Records. The members of New Order interview founders Tony Wilson and Martin Hannett, who speak on the philosophical and cultural purpose of their label, and their associates, who mostly appear frustrated or confused. Rob Gretton, Factory founder and manager of New Order, interviews himself. Also includes three live performances of New Order at the Haçienda.
