19 year old Irena Gut is promoted to housekeeper in the home of a highly respected Nazi officer in Poland when she finds out that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated. Determined to help twelve Jewish workers, she decides to shelter them in the safest place she can think of – the basement of the German Major's house. Over the next eight months, Irena uses her wit, humour and immense courage to hide her friends as long as possible.

"Emilia" is a parody of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's "Amelia". The title heroine was brought up in very specific conditions. Her parents could not transfer enough affection and knowledge to the growing child. Therefore, the girl created her own inner world in her mind, to live in complete isolation from the environment. One day, 19-year-old Emilia finds her life goal - she decides to do good around her. Unfortunately, bad luck means that people who meet on their way do not really need any help from her ...

The mother of the girl who wants to sell the child objects. This leads to conflict between her and the young couple. The girl's mother additionally brings up little Berry, from whom she hides a secret from the past. The heroes are put to a severe test. They have to face the darkest corners of their souls.
