Akhtar is a good humored working class man who is nicknamed The Joker, and tries to rise on the social ladder during the 1970s in Kabul.

A historical epic that follows a family feud spanning two-generations that is played out on the buzkashi field and two young lovers who defy their families’ expectations and pay a tragic price.

Based on a true story about a warlord who rapes the wife of an exiled man resulting in her pregnancy. To keep her shameful secret, the woman goes to her father’s house for the delivery. However there she finds out that the warlord has used his might and is planning a marriage with her 13 year old sister. To prevent his own disgrace and to ensure that the marriage goes ahead, the warlord orders his rape victim stoned for obviously having illegal extra-marital relations.

About five never completed films made between 1978 and 1992 before the backdrop of the various communist regimes that came to power in Afghanistan. Scenes from these films, some of which later reused in other works, are edited together with current footage of their locations and commentaries by the filmmakers and actors involved in the productions, allowing us to dive into action films and romantic dramas that revolve around local histories and conflicts.

Story of an artist who loves a spoiled rich girl, who marries a wealthy man instead, only to find out that he's a gangster. Both artist and girl get embroiled in gang schemes.
