The year 1947 saw the independence of Pakistan. During this time, the Indian film industry was segregated and the only film production centre left in Pakistan was at Lahore. With the industry reeling in its infancy, it was hard to work on film productions that had been initiated before the independence as many of the working filmmakers and actors had left for or stayed back in India.

When a defiant youth flees a tyrannical Wazir, he joins a hidden band of rebels branded as outlaws. Alongside a fierce warrior woman, he leads a desperate guerilla campaign against oppression, turning a flight for survival into an ultimate sacrifice for true justice.

A young village boy, Malik, falls in love with Zeeno, a modern Punjabi girl from a Westernized family. A village bully, Zuba, also likes Zeeno and creates apprehension in Zeeno and her family about Malik's relationship with a resident in his home, this leads to significant conflicts among Malik, the villagers, Zeeno, and her family.
