After the events of Rebellion, the world appears to be in balance—but that peace is fragile. As a new threat connected to Walpurgisnacht emerges, Homura Akemi is forced to face the consequences of her choices and question how far she is willing to go to protect Madoka.

Following Madoka's rewriting of the universe, sacrificing herself and her happy normal days to save all magical girls from the cruel fate that awaited them by wiping witches out of existence, the despair still manifest into creatures known as nightmares. Magical girl Homura Akemi continues to fight alone in the hope that she will be able to see Madoka smile again.

Madoka Kaname, an ordinary middle-schooler, along with her best friend Sayaka Miki, are offered the chance to have any wish they want granted by the mysterious Kyubey, and become magical girls and fight witches. However, fellow magical girl Homura Akemi seems intent on stopping Madoka from becoming a magical girl at any cost. Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part I: Beginnings is a retelling of the first half of the TV anime series.

As the young girls have discovered the truth about the cruel fate of a magical girl, one magical girl after another is destroyed. Throughout it all, there is one magical girl who continues to fight alone - Homura Akemi. Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part II: Eternal is a retelling of the second half of the TV anime series.

A short four-minute concept film unveiled in surprise at Studio SHAFT's 40th anniversary event in winter 2015, Madogatari. The first animated Puella Magi Madoka Magica work since Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion, it features the return of the full Madoka Magica cast and staff.

Kabukicho's delicate balance is maintained by four powerful figures known as the "Four Devas," who keep each other's influence in check. Among them is Otose, the "Empress" of the district. Despite having no real power herself, the sole reason she retains her position as one of the Four Devas and can contend with rival factions... is the presence of Kabukicho's strongest man—Sakata Gintoki—by her side. Then, a young woman approaches Gintoki, asking to become an apprentice at Yorozuya. Unbeknownst to him, she is Tsubaki Hirako, formerly of the Uekibachi Family and infamouslyknown as "Killer Hirako." Now, as Jirochou schemes to dominate Kabukicho, Otose becomes a target. Gintoki is given anultimatum: Join the Jirochou Family to save her, or refuse and watch Otose be attacked—while hehimself is marked for death.
