Two sisters own the Gul Hotel in an idyllic village in the South of Turkey. During the summer the town is guested by tourists who don't really act in the conservative fashion that the sisters expect. Ferdi comes from a very wealthy family, but has a passion for music. His father sends Ferdi to Istanbul to take care of business matters and allows him to follow his musical dreams at the same time. While there, Ferdi meets Arzu, a passionate, hard-driven young music student, that sets the start of a bitter sweet and tumultuous love story.

The film tells the story of two lovers separated by fate. Vahdet and Necla are madly in love with each other. They earn their living by busking on the streets with their friends Süslü and Sami. Pakize hears Vahdet singing on the street and is very impressed. She offers him a job. Vahdet's only wish is to marry Necla and start a family. However, Necla learns at the hospital, where she went due to dizziness, that she has only three months to live. She does not want to share this pain with Vahdet. She tells him lies and fakes a marriage to make him hate her. Unaware of any of this, Vahdet will try to take revenge on Necla.

The film deals with the problems experienced when a man who is released from prison returns home. Tarik is about to get out of the prison he has been in for six years. He married Nurten a few days before he went to prison, but hasn't seen her for years. Nurten lives with Tarık's family after Tarık goes to prison. During the years Tarık was in prison, she became close to her husband's brother Fikret and became pregnant. When Tarik is released, he will both try to get used to the new life outside and confront his wife and brother's relationship. (Derived from tsa.org.tr)

The film deals with the hardships of village life, telling of the cruelty of the village chief towards the villagers. Despite these hardships, it tells of the struggle of the young man nicknamed Yabancı (The Stranger).
