Follows the tragic pages of our history, when the so-called “special meeting”, consisting of three people, passed harsh sentences on innocent people.

The head of the regional inspectorate of architectural and construction control, Veprev, writes a critical article to the central newspaper about shortcomings in local construction, thereby causing dissatisfaction with the regional leadership. They find an excuse to release Veprev from his post. But the intervention of one of the journalists in the case helps to restore justice.

The protagonist of the play is Vasily Vasilyevich Telkin, a surgeon in the clinical department of plastic and cosmetic surgery, who is preparing to celebrate his 60th birthday. However, an anonymous letter was sent from a higher authority to the institute, making absurd accusations against Telkin. Despite Vasily Vasilyevich being highly respected by everyone, his colleagues took this "signal" too seriously and, in doing so, caused an undeserved insult to their friend.

During the twenty years school reunion classmates suddenly learn that one of them - Nadezhda Kruglova - is a proud mother of ten children.
