Officers Su Jianming and Li Huilin investigate a crime involving wealthy businessman Li Zhitian. As clues emerge, the investigation becomes more and more like a game of chess.

Old Lin, a retired steel mill veteran with mobility issues, lives a materially comfortable yet emotionally desolate life. His routine is unexpectedly disrupted when he crosses paths with Ma Teng, an idle drifter brimming with "useless knowledge" and a chronic habit of abandoning projects midway, during a botched caregiver interview. What begins as a comedic clash of misunderstandings evolves into an extraordinary companionship. Through their unlikely journey bridging generational and social divides, the mismatched pair transforms from chaotic strangers into mutual pillars of support. This transgenerational bond defying conventional boundaries of age and mortality becomes a profound testament to human resilience. In each other's flawed existence, they discover the courage to confront physical decline and mortality, ultimately unearthing the fortitude to embrace life's uncertainties with renewed bravery.

The film centers on Jin Wanfu and is based on the historic “Battle of Shentouling Ambush.” It brings to life a stirring chapter of China’s War of Resistance Against Japan.

To the Chinese, the Conference at Versailles was more of an insult at their dignity and sovreignity than a celebration of peace.

The film tells the story of a French female journalist, Si Nuo, who happened to come to China in the early 1980s during the reform and opening up, and met the rural guy Liu Changgen. The two had a good time together. I have heard and witnessed the entanglement of love and marriage between young Chinese in those days, and left an unforgettable romantic love story with Changgen.

My Father Jiao Yulu is a biographical film that retraces the short yet remarkable life of Comrade Jiao Yulu. Told from three perspectives—a Party member, a government official, and a family member—the film offers a well-rounded, deeply personal portrayal of his dedication, integrity, and selfless service to the people. Based on the oral accounts of his second daughter, Jiao Shouyun.
