The world's most loved fairy tale is back in a whole new fantastic imagining in Pinocchio. When a piece of pine-wood falls into the hands of the poor old toy maker, Geppetto, he carves it into a puppet which he names Pinocchio. To Geppetto's delight, Pinocchio comes to life - and like most little boys, he's full of reckless whims and wild ideas! His crazy escapades lead him into a series of madcap adventures from joining the circus to visiting the inside of whale! Along his journey, and throughout all the fun, Pinocchio learns to be considerate and courageous and learns what it takes to become a real boy.

More than anything, 10-year-old Sascha likes to go on bike rides with the neighbour girl Elli and collect sounds. He also has a passion for fixing up his bike in his improvised workshop. What he doesn't like is the new special school he has been sent to in order to learn how to read and write. One day Sascha is caught stealing and his mother decides to seek help at the youth welfare office.

It's the summer of 1990, two teenagers in Germany fall in love - an innocent first love, shortly before the German reunification. Katja (16) is from West-Berlin, Thorben (17) from GDR. Their families are fighting over a house in Kleinmachnow (a suburb of East-Berlin), where Thorbens family has been living since the 70ies, but where Katjas father grew up. The family had to emigrate to West-Berlin in 1961, just before the Berlin Wall was built. Later, the house was dispossessed under GDR-rule. Now, Katjas father demands restitution. The conflict grows bitterer and threatens to tear apart both families. It is about old wounds and new prejudices. While being in the middle of Germanys swiftly progressing process of reunification, Katja and Thorben have to fight for their love.

Lilo Maertens has been the editor of a women's magazine for several years. Now the women's rights activist is close to her 80th birthday and has to admit slowly but surely that she has to hand over the management. After eye surgery, Lilo is initially out of action and has to stay with her son Ruben and his wife Jutta. From then on she made life difficult for the couple. Only Finn finds access to his grandma.

The feminist plus-size activist Malaika (Maddy Forst), on the other hand, wants to benefit at least financially from the sexualization she is exposed to every day anyway - according to her own rules. But she quickly has to ask herself whether this is even possible.
