Kyz-Zhibek - Kazakh poetic folk legend of the 16th century, tells about the period in the Kazakh nation when the people suffered from bloody feuds. In those times each province of the Kazakh nation had its own Khan and each tried to supersede the other. The love story of Tolegen, the brave warrior, and the beauty Zhibek ends tragically because of inter-family strife. Tolegen is foully murdered by Bekejan (the batyr, or nobleman, of the rival family), who earlier strived for the hand of Zhibek. Zhibek commits suicide after learning about the death of Tolegen.

Based on the books and materials of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly and dedicated to the Panfilov division, which fought near Moscow in 1941, about the heroism of its soldiers, who stopped the fascists and on December 22, 1941 and went into a counterattack.

The film takes place near the border outpost "Red Stones". Three guys: the grandson of a herdsman, his cousin, who came on vacation from the city and the daughter of the head of the frontier post, met by chance in the Kazakh border steppes, where they spent time playing games. But when the real danger comes to replace the games, the guys proved to be real border guards.

During the second world war two friends work at a remote railway station in the steppes. When one dies the other's request to bury him according to Islamic rituals in a sacred place is denied by the Soviet authorities, who use that place for rocket testing.

The son of an old shepherd got married, and the young daughter-in-law Saltanat entered the family with love and tenderness. She immediately fell in love with the parents of her husband Tastan, and she surrounded him with female care. And for her husband's brother, the girl became a true friend. Zhaukhaz leaves her father's house, as custom dictates and her stepmother wishes. Zhaukhaz does not love her future husband, but she does not dare to break the old custom. Zhaukhaz, along with her husband and his parents, lives in a remote high-altitude pasture. The entire family tends a flock of collective farm sheep. The daily life of the shepherd's family is harsh, and the work is monotonous: cleaning the kennels, feeding the sheep, and, on sunny and quiet days, taking them out for grazing. The winter house is surrounded by silence. Sometimes it seems scary. On one of those days, when she fell in love with a young machine operator from Tanabay's neighboring brigade, Zhauhaz realized how vast life was and how fragile the bonds of old customs that tied her to an unloved man were.

Nurse Aigerim fell in love with herdsman Ablai, a kind and brave man... It was these qualities that helped Ablai defend his love and win a moral victory over his rival, the handsome Baranbai.
