Down and out in L.A.'s Valley, two longtime married, politically correct pornographers - played by Annette O'Toole and Lyn Vaus - are forced to confront the changes in their New Age values and marriage when they discover in their archives extremely salacious old footage of TV's currently #1 sitcom star.

Dumped by her loser boyfriend, Erin's love life hits rock bottom when her overbearing mother places an embarrassing ad in the "personals" section of a local newspaper on her behalf. Erin's disgust turns to curiosity as she searches for the right guy in a hilarious series of disastrous dates. Meanwhile, a lonely ex-plumber named Alan clumsily searches for his dream job while narrowly missing one chance meeting with Erin after another.

Lyn Vaus, a young man who still feels traumatized because their parents had been divorced two decades ago, is trying to go to Patagonia. Since he can not afford a transport, he decides to hitchhike. Unfortunately, he comes down to Panama to a place that is 80 miles from the Darien Gap, a huge swamp that somehow have to cross.

The L.A. dog walking scene provides a colorful backdrop for the story of Ellie Moore, damaged goods on the run from her latest abusive boyfriend and on the verge of transformation. She's helped along in that process by Betsy Wright, a misanthropic dog-walker in need of help with her business and struggling with her own dark past.
