The film tells the story of the tragic fate of a young girl - the daughter of a clergyman, the Soviet partisan. The action takes place in Lviv on the eve of and during World War II.

A seminary student on monastery holiday kills an old witch in a remote village. The hag then transforms into a beautiful young woman whose dying wish is for him to watch over her wake for three nights. With terrors occurring and his faith waning, he reads prayers on the overnight watch and tries to survive the supernatural encounters.

Based on the novel by Mikhail Stelmakh “A Big Family”. The second film of the trilogy (“Human Blood is Not a Water”, “Dmitro Goritsvit”, “People Don’t Know Everything”) tells about one of the first collective farms of Ukraine, the fight against the kulaks and the love of the communist Dmitro Goritsvit for Marta, the Petliurist's daughter, who guilty of the death of Dmitro's father.

The main character of the film is grandpa Ivan, a trembita player from Ivano-Frankivsk region. Through his story, Oleksandr Koval returns to his favorite method - looking at the Ukrainian village via intimate stories of his inhabitants.

Andrey Yarchuk, the foreman of the collective farm construction team, leaves for the city after Marinka, who was sent by the collective farm to study at an agricultural institute. After learning that the villagers are mocking Andrei, Marinka is transferred to the correspondence department and returns to the village. However, pride does not allow Andrey to return. Lovers will have to go through many adventures before they meet in their native Kohanovka.

David Motuzka, demobilized Red Army soldier, returns to his native village, hoping to see the changes caused by the revolutionary events. But he cannot see no improvement. The village is ruled by the kulaks and David's childhood friend Kornii Matiukha helps them.

The captain of a foreign ship drops off Hans, a sick sailor with no papers, on one of the islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Silvana, a fisherwoman, finds him and takes him into her home. Hans gets better and, after becoming friends with her son, starts going out to sea to fish. After a serious illness, the sailor forgot his past, and everyone thought he was German. He was happy in Silvana's house. But one day, when he fell ill, Hans began to shout in Russian in his delirium. After he recovered, Silvana was unable to prevent him from returning to his homeland...
