The story is about a factory guy, a young worker Volodya Kalinin, who decided to get a summer job at a pioneer camp as a counselor to "earn some money", and at the same time to relax. But the new case required a lot of effort from him, pedagogical imagination, skill, in short, there was no time for rest. As a result, mutual understanding and true friendship with the guys arose.

Vera Kasatkina, in her youth, experienced an emotional trauma: her husband left her and their child. She is 27 years old and has long given up on the idea of personal happiness. When she meets Volodya Chizhov, who is younger than her, she sincerely offers to help him prepare for his university entrance exams. Deep feelings begin to develop between them. Volodya, an open and persistent young man, tactfully takes the initiative — he helps Vera overcome her fears and find happiness.

In a different way alien to the father's eldest daughter, a mannequin. She loves married, dating him for two years, and he still does not want or does not want to part with his wife. Her father does not understand that she has her own life, forbids her to meet with her lover. And the youngest, not by years independent, childishly trusting and maturely reasonable tells her father his mistakes. And it is she who helps her father to understand his guilt before the family.
