This is a dramatic story of the restoration of the mines after the liberation of Donbass from the Nazis during the Second World War.

Little Nikita, the son of polar scientist Sergei Ivanov, runs away from home with the intention of reaching the Arctic, where he believes his father works. The boy manages to reach Leningrad, where he ends up at the Arctic Institute. Sergei is tasked with returning the runaway home, but Nikita stubbornly hides his origins and the purpose of his escape. Soon, his grandmother arrives, and Ivanov learns that Nikita is his son. He writes a letter to his ex-wife and convinces her of the need to return to him. The couple reconciles, and, preparing for another expedition, Sergei promises his wife and young son that he will return to the mainland on time.

Fighting Film Collection No. 9 (Boyevoy kinosbornik No. 9) is the ninth issue of Boyevoy kinosbornik series, released in May 1942. It contains three segments: "Kvartal No.14/Block 14" (Savchenko), "Siniye skaly/The Blue Cliff" (or "Blue Crags") (Braun) and "Mayak/The Signal" (or "Beacon") (Donskoy).

A semi-sequel to Donskoi's Raduga (1944), the story is set in Nazi-occupied Kyiv. The drama focusses on the travails of a typical Soviet family and on the efforts by the Germans to force the reopening of a local munitions factory.

The film takes place in 1921 on the Soviet-Finnish border. Shyutskorov detachments broke into Karelia, killed Soviet activists, burned houses ... In the rear of the enemy with a special task - to destroy the headquarters of the White Finns on the Kimas Lake - a detachment of Soviet cadets under the command of Toivo Antikainen (Oleg Zhakov) was sent.

Osoaviahimovets (volounteer military trainee) Andron organizes an aviation circle on his Volna collective farm and plans to build a parachute tower. Pilot Oreshkin, in love with Varenka, the daughter of the collective farm chairman, who is categorically opposed to aviation in the village, promises the guys to bring a parachute soon. And no matter how cunning the chairman is, young people still manage to convince him.

Deti solntsa is a version of Children of the Sun by Russian writer Maxim Gorky, written in early 1905 and premiered on October 25 of the same year at Petersburg's Kommissarshevskaya Theater.
