Jussara is the living memory of the village where he lives. Known as a counselor and storyteller, she enchants and involves everyone around her. One day she finds herself tired of carrying so many stories and decides to live her own.

May 2019: Two Brazilian women traveled to Algiers during the demonstrations of Hirak, a popular movement for democracy. In the middle of the crowd, they met a young girl. The sea that separates them is the same one that can join them together.

In 1968, Brazil’s military government convened the National Security Council to enact Institutional Act No. 5, ushering in the most violent period of the dictatorship. The meeting was recorded, but remained secret for decades. The filmmakers delved into the archives and now reveal the recordings.

Fabiana is a seasoned trucker who has crisscrossed and conquered the roads of Brazil for 30 years. The fact that she is transgender doesn’t seem to make any difference for her nomadic life. In many places, she can hook up with a variety of women and is in her element among the guys on the road. Now she is approaching retirement, Fabiana realises her life will change drastically. Her house, where she lives with her girlfriend when not on the road, will become her new world.

Between 1920 and 1953, the government of São Paulo sponsored the construction of a massive nationalist monument created by the famous Brazilian sculptor Victor Brecheret in honor of the bandeirantes, 16th and 17th-century fortune hunters and enslavers of indigenous people. To this day, the statue’s granite faces hear echoes from the official discourse behind the monument.

In 1992, during a meeting held at the family estate in the interior of Minas Gerais, all young heirs of the Baumann family mysteriously disappeared. The event is revisited by filming and old photographs, hoping to reconstitute his last days and solve the case.
