After another grueling workday, Egor—the owner, manager, and mechanic of an auto repair shop—awaits his childhood friends, as he does one Friday a month, looking to escape his troubles and play cards. Having worked almost without a day off for years, Egor now lives at the shop. The friends gather, but beneath their initially cheerful mood, their own problems begin to surface—and those problems are every bit as serious.

The story of the young engineer Anton, constantly running around in search of work and the opportunity to prove himself. His life becomes like a carousel of monotonous fruitless attempts, but one day fate throws him an excellent proposal - a serious company, a big project, a life abroad. This proposal puts the hero in front of the choice between the future and the one most desired for him, the last, but the most expensive, that remains in his present life.

Chinese businessman Weihong comes to Russia to visit his business partner Victor, who is in debt to him. Weihong tries to put things in order: fire ineffective employees, improve sales. But it soon becomes clear that he cannot overcome the great Russian melancholy, and Victor is unable to help him. Then Weihong decides to take Victor's house to pay off the debt. Victor is ready to part with the house, but he faces desperate resistance from his adult daughters - Olga, Lena and Toma. The conflict escalates into a catastrophe that can destroy the family and even kill.
