A young mare visits Cyprus to take part in races. Frustrated from failure, she abandons the racetrack after confronting her strict father. The mare will meet new friends who will try to help her find her lost courage.

An undocumented immigrant arrives in Cyprus, thinking he is in Italy. A story evolves around him, involving people who live in the margins society, and a veil of hypocrisy is created.

A Filipino domestic worker is called to take care of an elderly couple in a Cypriot mountain village. What begins as a simple caregiving task gradually exposes a web of silent resentment, emotional dependency and unspoken histories, forcing her into the delicate, unsettling space between obligation and intimacy.

Based on a feud that began without any significant cause between the Karakamilos and Pattalossavves families in 1754 and continues to this day, the contemporary reality of Cyprus will be presented through exaggerated comedy. We will see everyday people, our neighbors, but also people who are twice our size, who live in our homes and whom we do not pay much attention to. They are foreigners, "outsiders." They are people who chose Cyprus, to work for a better future. How do we treat them? How do Cypriots today view foreign workers? Amidst all this, a great love and two deaths reignite the feud, which no one knows how or when it will end.

Love, passion, fear, pain, blood. All symbolized by the most intense of colors, red, because people who live with passion live against a red background. In 1967, a soldier in the Greek division leaves Cyprus, losing his teenage love forever. Forty-one years later, he learns that he left much more behind. A woman trapped in a dead marriage, but at the same time caught up in a passionate and forbidden love affair. A doomed love affair that will lead two brothers into a deadly conflict. When one foot steps into passion, the other is surely in the wrong. But only the dead are far from passion and error. The living are doomed to experience the supreme happiness of a love that is born, but also the deep pain left behind by a love that dies, or, even worse, a love that is forever forbidden and unfulfilled. Joy and tears, love and pain, are all painted on a red background!
