Nikolay Morozov has been both a revolutionary and a terrorist in his long life. Sentenced to a lifetime of hard labour, he spent 30 years in a tsarist prison. His hair had long turned grey by the time the Second World War broke out, but when he realised his country needed him he volunteered for the army. Nikolay was 87 at the time.

The life of Arina Alferova, an official of the regional Ministry of Health, is very prosperous: a nice apartment in the city center, a decent foreign car, morning styling, shopping trips to Moscow, jewelry, expensive shoes. After all, the head of the finance and economics department can afford something. And sometimes even more than that. Carried away by her personal life, she does not notice what each of her signatures is worth. One day, a bitter reckoning will come too close to her — a loved one dies from fake pills. So the official decides to integrate herself into the corrupt chain in order to get to the very top — to the minister — and drown everyone.

Different strokes for different folks - says the proverb. Born a rabble dies a rabble. But this is the year 1700, the time of dramatic changes in the Russian Empire, the time of reformations carried out by Peter the Great. Young serf Ivan Starshov is head over heels in love with Maria, the daughter of his master. He doesn't want to accept that the young princess is no match for him. This is how the protagonist gets on the winding road to the true understanding of Love.

She will have both recognition and success ahead of her, but happiness and true love will have to go a difficult way.
