On the brink of the Second World War, a young Norwegian man's drive to resist the Nazis sets a new course for his future – and the future of his country.

The evening before Christmas eve, Vilde is hanging out with her friends at the central station, when she learns that her mother has been in an accident. She is forced to contact her biological father, but wants to run away to Tokyo.

Selma, 12 and Elliot, 6 are in summer holiday. Selma is jealous of her little brother, because he is getting more attention from Mother. In the forest behind the house, there are wild animals. One evening, Selma tells Elliot that the neighbour has seen a bear just near the house. One evening she tells him again about the bears, and deliberately feeds his fascination. That night, Elliot sneaks out into the forest.
