Vazha served his sentence for stealing a cow and returned to the village. Upon his return, he decided to repair the house. His friends promised to help, but then everyone had their own business.

In Arabic, “mameluke” means a white slave, a prisoner. In Egypt, this name was given to prisoners of war who had been sold into slavery from Georgia and other countries of the Caucasus. The action of this drama starts in Georgia in the late 18th century. Two friends are abducted and sold into slavery. One ends up in Egypt, the other - in Venice. Years later, they meet by the ancient pyramids, in the desert where a battle is going on between the armies of Bonaparte and Ali-bey, the ruler of Egypt. In a combat with a French officer, the Mameluke injures him. Falling from his horse onto the sand, the officer exclaims in Georgian: “Vai, nana!” (“Oh, mother!”). And the Mameluke recognizes in him a mate of his childhood games.

On the outskirts of the modern city, an old mill stands. Townspeople come here to grind corn, while waiting for their turn, they share memories of the past, discuss present concerns, joke, and argue.

Giorgi follows his son's request and goes to the city to spend the winter. Only Loma, Giorgi's Caucasian shepherd remains in thedeserted village.

After finishing school, three friends go to Chiatura for work. Two of them start working in a black stone mine, and the third, Bondo, works as a driver in a lumber yard. Friends' paths divide here. With the advice of the warehouse manager, Bondo gets used to easy income and does not shy away from dark affairs.

Old people from a small village in Guria, renowned for their love and knowledge of folk songs, will be performing at a folk song festival in a Bulgarian seaside resort. Their Guria songs will delight the audience, making them many good friends and embarking on fun adventures.

An absurdist allegory of the absorption of Georgia into the Soviet Union, a man's apartment is overrun by 'lodgers' who takeover the apartment, restrict his movements, and put him in a birdcage.

The film tells the life of a Georgian woman from 1920s to the present day. Love, marriage, Russian annexation and collectivization, world war, loss of children - Sidonia went through many sorrows and troubles on her way of life, but she always maintained spiritual courage and hope for the future.
