A bunch of countryside people decide to exchange roles between men and women.

The film consists of three short stories: "The Runaway Car," "Apollo's Skeleton," and "Night Show."

A young surgeon Alexander came to the village for a vacation. He is pleased with himself, everything is going well in his life: he is behind the institute, preparing his thesis, working in a famous clinic. However, soon Alexander decides to stay to work in a rural hospital.

The eternal “housing question” in Russia is taken on by Serafimov, a young and principled city council deputy, who is determined to help his constituents. In the end, he manages not only to secure a new building for the veterans of the brick factory—made from the very bricks they once produced—but also to have them all housed under one roof, so they wouldn’t feel the pain of separation after leaving their crowded communal apartments.

A cheerful mix-up takes place at a provincial hotel when a newspaper reporter is mistaken for a famous hypnotist.

In the near future, a friendly exploratory mission to Earth from the planet Zenturia crashes on Mars's moon Phobos, and cosmonauts from the USSR are sent to the difficult and dangerous rescue.

The action takes place in Odesa in 1918-1919. At the request of General Denikin, a French squadron arrives in Odesa to restore order in the city. Odesa Bolsheviks are trying to convince the sailors to leave the city. At the center of the story is the heroic fate of Frenchwoman Jeanne-Marie Lyabourb (1877-1919), shot by French interventionists.

District inspector Pavel Khrapuntsov is “monitoring” a sect with a mystical bent in his neighborhood. The signals received by the police describe the actions of a certain Clementine, who knows how to turn people into animals and plants... A convinced materialist, Khrapuntsov does not immediately understand the complex world of Clementine and her friends.

The naive hero, having read clever books, marries a prostitute with the aim of re-educating her and collides with the famous Sergei Eisenstein, ending in the most unexpected and fatal way...

After Mick Nich, a 1930's Chicago gangster, sells out his own gang to the police, the Mafia hires the best hitman in town, Johnny Pollack, to follow him to Odessa, USSR. Upon arrival, Pollack loses his memory and goes on various adventures with a group of thick-headed Odessa locals who think he is a harmless butterfly collector.

The beginning of the 30s of the last century. A leak of classified information was found at the Soviet shipbuilding plant. Arriving under the guise of a scientist, the legendary chekist Karotin begins to unravel the threads of the conspiracy of the fascist spy organization. He is helped by inexperienced but active local detectives. Mastering the basics of the counterintelligence, they fall into a situation the other one funnier.

The protagonists of the film, chekists Sasha Sizov and Ivan Shagin, take the confiscated jewels out of the city captured by the White Guards and deliver them to Kiev. Having returned to the city liberated by the Red Army, they expose a White Guard agent who has infiltrated the Cheka and take part in the defeat of Colonel Sherstev's gang.

Based on the events that took place in Odessa in 1910, when, on the instructions of the Foreign Bureau of the RSDLP, a prominent Bolshevik underground worker arrived in the city under the guise of a French timber merchant, who was to organize the delivery of illegal literature to Russia through the Odessa port. The task can be completed. In Odessa, a variety show theater was created, which, having gained fame, toured Russia and received "theater props" from France...

The heroine of this not quite serious story was born with extraordinary talent: instead of speaking, she sings - sings always, everywhere and at all.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".
