El asombro

As if it were a continuation of the last 15 minutes of AB, Fund and Loza, now accompanied by Moriconi, radicalize the aesthetic procedure of the previous film made together: on the one hand, there is a free text, between poetic and philosophical, pronounced voiced by two men and a woman; on the other, a set of plans of different ecosystems, live and stuffed animals, clouds, waterfalls and lava, organized by a kind of poetic logic, makes up the visual material. The disjunction between text and image is programmatic, and in parallel they constitute a form of free poetic expression. The precariousness of existence is evidence, and the very composition of the images is in line with this empirical confirmation. The general discourse oscillates between a heterodox Franciscan Christianity and a sensitive Darwinism, and in the same way a kind of awareness of terror and amazement towards the universe is combined.

Animal

Antonio Decoud is a conservative family man who is forced by destiny to face an unexpected situation that shakes him to the core, scrambling up his life and his priorities, pushing him to forget his beliefs and his way of understanding life and follow the most basic instinct: the animal instinct.

Two Shots Fired

Mariano, 16, inexplicably and without warning, shoots himself twice and improbably survives. Then, life goes on. His brother pursues a romance with a girl working at a fast-food joint, his mother takes off on a trip with a stranger, and Mariano recruits a woman to join his medieval wind ensemble.

Twelve year old Juana goes to a British school in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where she fails both socially and academically. A week away from the exams that will determine her future in the institution, she is surrounded by the same routine; going to class and trying to pull her social life back together, with useless attempts in between. Juana goes through these strange days apparently feeling indifferent towards the situation.

Being Awake

Santiago wakes up in the desert and goes to his father’s house who receives him at gunpoint. Ernesto decides to sacrifice Arón, the dog, but phantasmagoric apparitions shake the family’s foundations.
