The antithesis of the virile heroes of his era, James Dean shook up the representation of adolescence and masculinity in three films shot in 1955, the same year he died in a car accident at the age of 24—exactly seventy years ago: Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, and Giant. This meteoric rise made him an instant icon, frozen in eternal, rebellious youth, which still resonates strongly today.

In 2002, serial killer Patrice Alègre was sentenced to life imprisonment for five murders. Gendarme Roussel, the main investigator of this case, believes that he will make him confess to other unsolved crimes in Toulouse. Two ex-prostitutes give a series of names of presumed accomplices of the killer, among them Dominique Baudis, then president of the CSA. He decides to face the case alone. Around him, it is silence: not an official support of his political family. Almost twenty years later, we return to the Baudis affair to try to understand it, with the testimonies of Pierre and Benjamin Baudis, his sons, François Hollande, Camille Pascal and the main protagonists.

Under the pretext of fighting terrorism or crime, the major powers have embarked on a dangerous race for surveillance technologies. Facial recognition cameras, emotion detectors, citizen rating systems, autonomous drones… A security obsession that in some countries is giving rise to a new form of political regime: numerical totalitarianism. The apocalyptic blast in the Port of Beirut, Lebanon, on August 4, 2020, exacerbates anger at those in power: protests cross religious boundaries as the Lebanese people curse corruption, nepotism, gross economic mismanagement and squandering of resources. How did the Land of Cedars, a country with so much to offer, allow itself to get into such a dire situation? And will it be able to bounce back?

A serious crisis has shaken Spain since the referendum on self-determination and the proclamation of the independence of Catalonia by the government of Carles Puigdemont, bold actions firmly fought by the Spanish government by applying the constitutional article that allows it to place a region under guardianship. While Spain is on the verge of implosion, Europe is holding its breath.

A filmmaker inside Gaza. Another locked out, trying to reach him and failing. What begins as an attempt to make a film across distance turns into something much more immediate—an unfolding record of life under constant attack, captured from within. Through Suhail’s camera, we follow children who are still studying, playing, joking, and holding on to some sense of normalcy as drones circle overhead and evacuation orders fall from the sky. The film moves between these lived moments and the fragile process of making the film itself, building a structure that is constantly in motion. What makes it land is not just the urgency of the subject, but how it is told. The film is immersive, heavily verité, and driven by strong editing that keeps you inside its world. It does not rely on narration or emotional pressure—it lets the experience build on its own. By the time it reaches its final moments, you are no longer watching from the outside. You have been inside it the whole time.

Cannabis has changed. Now more potent and addictive than ever, it bears little resemblance to what some were smoking twenty years ago. Yet teenagers are using it more and more, despite proven toxic effects on the brain. Loss of attention, and in some cases even IQ, school dropout, emotional isolation, and sometimes psychotic behavior — smoking weed has become a public health issue. Among young people, however, cannabis still has a positive image. It’s seen as less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes. French adolescents are the top consumers of cannabis in Europe.
