The old nunnery owns the best lands. Nuns rent out the land to local rich men, and exploiting peasants they have a wealthy life. The peasants live in misery. Especially, the family of the peasant named Levin. He is forced to give away his last horse, his son Andrii is imprisoned, his daughter Nastia becomes a maid of a rich landlord. Trying to prevent the master’s harassment, Nastia escapes and gets to the nunnery. She can see the other life of the nuns who manufacture false relics, drink alcohol and kill children. Nastia ends up in the basement for resisting one of the “spiritual pastors.” Meanwhile, her brother Andrii escapes from prison. He stirs up a rebellion and saves his sister. The film is lost.

An agent working for the Tsar fools a group of Bolshevik sailors but is captured and punished after the revolution.

The film is set in one of the regions of Western Ukraine in the 1920s. A poor peasant, Vasyl, openly opposes the arbitrariness of the lord's authorities. While hunting in the lord's forest, he is captured by soldiers and imprisoned in a dungeon. His beloved girl Lesia, with the help of the villagers, opens the dam, and water begins to flood the manor. Amid the commotion, Vasyl escapes from his captivity.

In October 1917, Warrant Officer Shakhov sided with the revolution.Shakhov is disturbed by the thought that once, during the imperialist war, he was arrested for participating in a revolutionary circle and, during interrogation, while in a semi-conscious state, revealed the name of his comrade and teacher, the revolutionary Rayevsky. This offense of Shakhov's was exposed. The Revolutionary Tribunal sentences Shakhov to death. At the last moment, he is saved by Raevsky, who by then had become a significant party figure named Turbin, who tells the court about Shakhov and the circumstances in which he unknowingly became a traitor. The tribunal acquits Shakhov. Based on the novel “Nine Tenths of Fate“ by Veniamin Kaverin.

The film takes place during the pre-revolutionary years and the initial period of the Soviet regime. At a monastery shelter in one of Russia's western towns, orphan Yulka gives birth to a son from the shepherd Jerome. Matron of the shelter Pavlikha as directed by the father kills the newborn baby and disposes of the corpse in the Jewish Quarter. The Black Hundreds are spreading the rumor that the murder was committed by the Jews for ritual purposes. Mayhem arises which is supported by the authorities of the city. The church refuses to shelter Jews fleeing from the violent thugs.

A Soviet propaganda film. The director of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture, Professor Kornienko, stays away from politics and tries to work with his daughter in what he considers to be "pure" science. That is why he treats the revolutionary events as an unfortunate but passing phenomenon. His main concern is to preserve the heritage of the people at all costs, even by smuggling some of it abroad. Gradually (not without the influence of the Red Commissar and his own daughter), Professor Kornienko comes to the conclusion that the revolution is not an enemy of culture.
