Hsiao Yao

Three young martial arts brothers, played by Chi Kuan-chun, Alexander Fu Sheng and Leung Kar-yan, go in search of fellow patriots dissatisfied with Imperialist foreigners and wind up joining a rising sect of the Boxers, led by an opportunistic conman. Named as such for their use of martial arts, these boxers are revolutionaries who believe that spirits protect their bodies from foreign guns. They even dupe the Empress Dowager, who gives them her royal blessing to fight the foreigners.

Silver Spear (Jimmy Wang Yu) is a deadly Kung Fu bounty hunter who has been hired to kill three martial arts experts. When the white-haired super-warrior known as The Old Hermit hears about this, he sends some of his own men to put a stop to it. But these newcomers are no match for the mighty bounty hunter, so The Old Hermit sends more, and more, and more, succeeding only in whipping up the raging martial arts maelstrom that is Silver Spear.

After the Mantis Fist school attacks the Eagle's Claw school and leaves their teacher for dead, the dying master passes over his senior student, Chen Tien Chun, to anoint his second most senior pupil, Lee Cheh, as new master. An orphan boy seeks revenge upon a villainous kung-fu sect that killed his friends. He chances upon two old kung fu masters who are fighting to determine who's the better fighter; one is a drunk, the other puffs constantly on a pipe. Fei Fei convinces them to teach him kung fu, and then he'll fight using both of their techniques and will discover which is superior. So Fei Fei ends up fighting his way up the ranks of the evil sect with the two old men trailing after him, evaluating the battles and counting how many of their individual moves Fei Fei uses. The final battle with the white-haired master of the sect, using new kung fu moves inspired by dancers in a brothel, is amazingly gymnastic. --Bret Fetzer

Chuen Chan spares the life of the evil Miao Yi Tao (Chang Yi) in a duel, and Miao swears he'll regret it! Some years later, Chen Tai (Man Kong Lung) and Shuan Ching (Hsu Feng) leave home, with the task of escorting a special shipment to the capital. The cocky young Chen Tai disgraces a group of bandits, who happen to work for Miao. Miao investigates and suspects Miao's father has information about the whereabouts of Chuen Chan, also known as The Ghost Killer. This forces the father to disclose a terrible secret to his children.
