Fleeing from the Russian secret police, a young Estonian fencer is forced to return to his homeland, where he becomes a physical education teacher at a local school. The past however catches up and puts him in front of a difficult choice.

The film is based on the best choreographic numbers from the performances of the Leningrad Music Hall, songs of pop stars and romances performed by popular singers. The concert numbers are united by the storyline of the participation of all performers in the filming of a musical comedy film.

Johannes, a young Ingrian Finn, grows up in Soviet Estonia with his liberal student mother and pro-Soviet grandmother. The boy's life is revolutionized when he experiences first love and his mother decides to leave for Finland.

He has appearance, abilities, intelligence, but exchanged everything for women, bringing them mostly grief, deceiving them and extracting everything he could from those who were older and richer. But then they saw through him and sent him out as a choreographer to the provinces, where he literally died. There arose a natural, but at the same time unnatural friendship and enmity with a drug addict nicknamed Buryy (Brown). This relationship brought Fuflo (Junk), as Buryy nicknamed him, to murder.

The film is about one of the greatest social hot spots in Estonia during the Soviet times when apartments were distributed by the state, telling the story of a real estate agent and a homeless man. Mass immigration in 1944-1988 led to demographic conflict. Free apartments were mainly given to immigrants despite the fact that local people badly needed places of residence as well. They are not tourists, they live here, but they haven't got a home.

Sergey, a radio factory worker, a part-time student, and Nelya, an Intourist guide, got married relatively recently, but are already experiencing a serious family crisis. The first difficulties of life threaten to destroy their marriage. Young spouses have to combine their studies with work, live with their little daughter in a private apartment, and experience financial difficulties. Everyday life began to annoy Nella, but her husband annoys her even more. Sergey is a good man who loves his wife and daughter, but to his wife he seems clumsy, clumsy, too soft and therefore unable to stand up for himself. Volkov, the head of the department where Nelya works, is another matter. The complete opposite of Sergei, on the contrary, he is an enterprising, successful man, a real man and a standard of reliability…
