Medea is made with a particularly complex procedure: encaustic painting on vitrified film. The result is an alchemical work that lives on matter and light, a cinematic-pictorial jam session that blends perfectly well with jazz improvisation, a work specifically created from evocative metaphorical compositions that deftly evoke a magmatic and crystallized reality.

Massimo Sisti is a reputable professional with a nice house, a happy marriage, and two loving daughters, whose life is turned upside down when one day he finds a little girl tied up in his basement.

The film was created in relation to a musical improvisation project in which Antonello Salis, Sandro Satta, Mark Dresser, and Massimo Carrano participated. The work is based on abstract animations made with various techniques directly on 35mm cinema film that are interspersed with live action sections that creatively document the stages of the jam session.

Walking in the forest, Clara, a disenchanted girl from the Roman suburbs, bumps into a deer. Hoping to catch that magical moment, the young girl points her phone camera towards the animal, but the phone turns off, leaving her only with a doubt and a beautiful memory. This event starts a one-day journey marked by encounters with different characters, a path that becomes a search into a corrupted memory.

Three Roman teenagers try to make their mark on the world: Brenda is pregnant; Ale has just turned 19 and is about to become a father; Kevin fills the city with his name. Always connected, they buzz between the coastal countryside and the Eternal City, trying to resist each in his own way the inexorable advance of time and heat.

In a sparse and inhospitable land, the policeman Enzo Vitello, a man with a dark past, is obsessed with "Dostoyevsky", a serial killer whom he kills with a peculiarity: next to the body, the murderer always leaves a letter with his desolate and very clear vision of the world, of life and darkness that Vitello hears resonating in him.
