Follows the service of Lieutenant Colonel Lubentsov as commandant of the German city of Lauterburg in the first days after the end of the Great Patriotic War.

The action takes place in Odesa in 1918-1919. At the request of General Denikin, a French squadron arrives in Odesa to restore order in the city. Odesa Bolsheviks are trying to convince the sailors to leave the city. At the center of the story is the heroic fate of Frenchwoman Jeanne-Marie Lyabourb (1877-1919), shot by French interventionists.

Andrei Krutikov was the first child born in the settlement of the hydroelectric station workers. The residents of the settlement named a street after him. Years passed, and the young city grew. Andrei grew up to be a mischievous, lying, and wild storyteller. But then a new boy, Borya Skalov, appeared in his class. Unintentionally, Andrei started to imitate the serious and responsible Boris, and he didn't even notice how his life began to change.

The story is about two friends living in one of the provinces of central Russia. Pyotr Vasilyevich decides to marry off his young friend, Boris Andreyich. They visit a widow, two sisters of marriageable age, and the Barsukov family, which consists of two members: the father and his 19-year-old daughter, Verochka.

At the heart of the plot - the erroneous message about the death of Varvara Antonovna gathers around her son, daughter-in-law and grandson. They feel a sense of deep guilt, so carelessly treating a loved one for a number of years

The protagonists of the film are construction workers. Though they differ in character, they are united by a shared passion for discovery, purity of intention, and emotional depth. Civil engineer Kidin, a creative soul, fights for a revision of the prefab housing plant project. Can a person truly be happy if they pursue only a narrowly defined personal happiness?

An employee leaves the company, lured away by a “competing company”, but his boss doesn't want to let him go at all, not handing over the documents, instead of saying goodbye through the secretary, that he doesn’t want him to leave, and gives three months to say goodbye to them or not. Nevertheless, he leaves, while grossly violating party discipline. A new venture awaits him, there he will be a big boss, an “outsider.” They have high hopes for it, but they are in no hurry to immediately reveal all the features and hidden production problems.
