A documentary that follows the career of one of the most unique names in Brazilian independent cinema. Over the past 30 years, Felipe M. Guerra has made horror films starring his own grandmother, documentaries with cult filmmakers like Ruggero Deodato and Roger Corman, and no-budget shorts featuring Brazilian celebrities. More than a biopic, "Amateur" draws a parallel between Guerra's career and the Brazilian independent fantastic cinema scene, revealing a culturally relevant filmography that inspires new generations to create their own films - proving that it is possible to make movies without the best cameras or the biggest budgets.

Goti and his friends Marcelo, Eliseu, Tomás, Ido and Geison will graduate on a Friday the 13th. To celebrate, they decide to make a party in Goti's house with booze, drugs and some girls. What they didn't expect is the visit of a masked killer - dressed as Ghostface in "Scream" -, who broke into the party to murder one by one.
