Koichi Yajima

The setting is a recruitment examination for an IT company, there are six finalists who are given the task to build a team and hold a discussion in one month's time. So, they deepen their interaction with each other so that all to receive offers. But soon they will find that the assignment has been changed and there will be only one succeosor. 6 envelopes are found in the discussion room which contain accusations of the "crimes" of each of the six. Who is the liar? The ultimate psychological battle begins.

Sugimoto Taeko moves in with her daughter Natsuki and granddaughter Mizuki. They begin a lively life together. In the midst of it all, Taeko sees her former self in Mizuki. The bitter taste of the first pineapple she ever ate, the disastrous score on a math test, the awakening of her acting spirit at a school performance. As Taeko recalls her elementary school days, she unleashes a dream that she had long given up on and sealed away. 'I'm going to be on stage!' Taeko immediately auditions and devotes herself to rehearsing for a Shakespeare play. But just then, the theatre where she was going to perform goes bankrupt, and she is forced to give up on her dream again!

Tanaka Nozomu is one of the three high school students. People call her "Baka" ("Idiot"). She isn't timid and she can't read between the lines. Her friends are Kikuchi Akane and Saginomiya Shiori . Akane enjoys anime and manga. Shiori is extremely smart, but her emotions have dried up. These three girls are also classmates. Their homeroom teacher is Sawatari Masataka.

Haruka is a fisherman's daughter, who lost her home and many friends in the Tohoku earthquake. After a year living in a temporary housing, she did not want to return back to her hometown and went to Tokyo where she got captivated by a lighting store. Haruka later works at the store and decides to help the customers to find their own light in life. At the same time, Haruka slowly overcomes her emotional wounds and finds her own light.

Yuriko Busujima (Atsuko Maeda) does not trust men due to her father's betrayal when she was a child. She has a dating rule, which she has two boyfriends at the same time. This is in case one of her boyfriends betrays her, she will still have the other boyfriend who still love her. She works as a reporter.

Emiru Yoshitsune is a 22-years-old who has just started working as a case worker to poor people needing public assistance. She has no knowledge about the social welfare system and struggles to carry out her work. One day, a man who she is assigned to help commits suicide. (Source: MDL)
