In the remote Ukrainian village of Dykanka, handsome but poor Vakula loves the beautiful Oksana, but she's holding out for a wealthy prince, and her father doesn't think much of him either. On Christmas Eve she sends him on a ridiculous quest for dancing shoes that takes him all the way to the imperial palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia, with the help of some odd characters from the village and the Devil himself.

The rich peasant Solopii Cherevyk goes to the Sorochyntsi fair to sell wheat. His quarrelsome wife Khivria and daughters Paraska, Horpyna and Motria go with him. At the fair, Paraska meets a guy named Hrytsko and falls in love with him. But her stepmother Khivria is against their wedding. In parallel, the events related to the mysterious story about the "red scroll" develop.

Cinderella, eager to attend, is forced by her stepmother and stepsisters to make dresses for them. Once the dresses are ready, they leave her behind with additional chores. However, her fairy godmother appears and helps her get to the ball, with one condition: she must return by midnight. At the ball, Cinderella meets the prince, who instantly falls in love with her. They dance and enjoy the evening until the clock strikes twelve, and Cinderella flees, leaving behind a glass slipper.

During a spur-of-the-moment trip to St. Petersburg, chief financial officer Elena unexpectedly meets the man of her dreams – and then, equally unexpectedly, loses him again. She has nothing to go on, so she breaks out everything she's got to hunt him down: logical deduction, supernatural forces, her friends' help, a new guy she's met, a retreat, and much more. Since she was a little girl, Elena has always "taken life at a march," climbing the career ladder with frankly alarming determination, never letting herself get waylaid by romance or relationships. She's always been like that – right up until this weird, accidental, incredibly lucky meeting. In the new episodes, Elena gets back to hunting down the one that got away, using every aboveground (or underhand) method available to her. She rushes headlong into it, makes mistakes, falls down, but keeps going, making the difficult journey toward love and affection, and, most importantly, finding herself.

They are neither adults nor kids - somewhere in between, living in their separate boys and girls cozy dorms and doing whatever they love to do - inventors, artists, poets, mechanists, scientists and....just dreamers! These enthusiastic and creative folks enjoy their half-adult, half-childish lifestyles and entertain each other with the different tricks and practical jokes. The main hero stands out of the crowd - while the others try to live the normal life socializing as they can, he can never be rested, always coming up with the different unpredictable and unexpected moves, which always make viewers burst with laugh....
