Alexandria, Egypt, 1940. Three young Egyptians come to the aid of a woman being attacked by three British soldiers. One of them is arrested and thrown in jail. The events of the film revolve in one day around Sultan, a veteran criminal who was released from prison. But, he is surprised by the appearance of his two sons which he knew nothing while beings forced to escape with them amid a gang pursuing him.

Three friends form a gang of pirates, “Sea Burglars”, get assigned to a mission against the Mob, after a large cargo of diamonds was heisted. Things turn into a web of rivalries and paybacks, when one one of them decides to do the mission on his own and escape to Morocco.

Omar marries Nesma despite her father's objection. After the wedding ceremony, they're attacked by unknown men. During her escape, Nesma is injured. Awakening from a coma, she refuses to see Omar because she doesn't feel safe with him. He goes to a psychiatrist to help him solve the problem.

Ahla el-Awqat (The Best of Times) tells the story of a successful middle-aged woman (Salma, played by Hanan Tork) who is left to live with her step father after a not-so-tragic accident that claims the life of her mother. Salma goes on a quest to find out the identity of the sender of mystery letters and packages. One letter includes a picture of her and her two best friends from school (played by the Hend Sabry and Menna Shalaby), whom she has not seen for 14 years. Reunited, the girls embark on the quest of finding the identity of the sender.
