In the Caucasus, among the picturesque mountains there is a guerrilla war between the Whites from Bicherakhov’s division and the Red Army soldiers. The Chechen girl Dzhalma finds an injured Ukrainian guy Mykola in a valley. She saves his life and helps him to recover. Young people fall in love with each other, and after the Bolshevik’s victory both of them travel to Ukraine. Dzhalma ends up in a traditional Ukrainian village. 

The film takes place in Ukraine during the Civil War. Apolon Shmyguiev is loyal to all regimes and capable of benefiting from any situation. By chance, the man becomes camel's herder and travels on it over Ukraine.

The film is about the industrial relations between the old and young generations of workers. The old master Korzhov hides his professional knowledge from the youth. This provokes criticism from the young worker Pavel. The relationship deteriorates after Korzhov's daughter secretly marries Pavel...

A team of welders is actively preparing for international sports. Marko considers himself incapable of sports and shies away from training. But acquaintance with active gymnast Anya changes his attitude to sports. He devotes all his free time to training and is the first to come to the finish line at the running championship. He is sent to international competitions in Moscow.
