A famous novelist receives a large inheritance after his father’s passing. He rents out one of his inherited properties to a Japanese/Chinese woman named Elaine and they embark on an affair, causing rifts in his marriage with Jeanna Ho. One night, Elaine is suddenly found dead in the balcony of the house. To clear her name, Chuan devises a plan to expose the disgruntled student who started the smear campaign, while encouraging Man to reclaim her professional standing by challenging celebrity coach Joe (Kevin Chu).

The inhabitants of a decrepit inner-city tenement building are terrified to discover that the malevolent spirit of a former tenant has been summoned when one of the current residents broke an unspoken vow. To solve their problem, they decided to hire through a social worker so they will be eligible "special social enterprise" government subsidy in this crowd-pleasing comedy.
