A Lua Luta por Lula brings together photographs of Lula, footage of strikes and assemblies in the ABC region, music, and scenes from other films by Jomard. The moon and car headlights cut across a montage that bridges the political and the bodily. Made in 1981, the short film documents the national rise of Lula’s trade union leadership. Censored by the dictatorship, it remains a testament to the collective strength that helped build Brazilian democracy.
