When Adolf Hitler reawakens at the site of his former bunker in present-day Berlin, he is mistaken for a comedian and quickly becomes a media phenomenon.

Undine is a historian and tour guide at the Berlin City Museum specializing in urban development, while Christoph is an industrial diver. Linked by a love of the water, the two form an intense bond, which can only do so much to help Undine overcome the considerable baggage of her former affair.

Donato fails in his attempt to save a drowning man, and meets one of the man's friends. He decides to start his life over, but pieces of his past keep coming after him.

Munich 1972: The Olympic Games are supposed to show the world a new, different Germany: the spirit of Munich - cosmopolitan, relaxed and free. But then the unthinkable happens: in the early hours of September 5, Palestinian terrorists enter the Olympic Village and storm the Israeli team's quarters. Shortly afterwards, security forces find a dead Israeli. The rest of the team is in the hands of men who clearly have nothing to lose. When the leader of the terror squad asks for a negotiating partner, the young policewoman Anna Gerbers, who originally came to Munich as a steward for the games, volunteers.

Vincent, a young man who suffers from Tourette's syndrome, has just lost his mother. His father, a successful politician, does not want to take care of him and therefore places him into a mental institution. He is put into a room with Alexander, a guy with a compulsive disorder, and is shown around by Marie, an anorectic girl.

Griesenow, 2013: The hairdresser Marianne Voss is found dead in the forest by her daughter Heike. Shortly afterwards, her husband Karsten comes under suspicion of murder. But he protests his innocence.

One evening in the mid-sixties, Rolf Anschütz, a chef who runs a small restaurant in a town called Suhl in the middle of the East German province of Thuringen offers his guests a unique and exotic meal - Japanese Sukiyaki. It was intent to be a surprise for some of his best customers and it became a great success. Even the local paper wrote about it - and this should change the life of Rolf Anschütz forever.
