A lowly hospital orderly impersonates a recently deceased doctor and goes to work in the busy ER of a small hospital where he meets and befriends a nurse who slowly figures out his secret and helps him maintain his charade.

Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.

Placing wartime and lockdown life side-by-side, Alan Ayckbourn’s 85th play is a touching, tender and, of course, funny reflection on the ability of love to rise above adversity and reach across the years.
