The film begins with some sequences related to the youth of Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez, his arrival in Buenos Aires from his native Arrecifes, his law studies and a double frustration, as a writer and in his crush on a young woman who loved another man.

A single man and womanizer who enjoys the nightlife learns that he has a son who is already an adult. In order to gain his affection he decides to change his life. Things get complicated when he needs to return to his past life, this time to save his family from ruin.

Told in flashback, Federico lives in a poor neighbourhood with his siblings and his single mother, working helping in a local bar, he meets Claudio, who begins to lead him on an easy life making him abandon all his connections in consequence.
