A drama set in the 1980s. It paints a picture of rural idyll, against which the hidden fears and hopes of many people loom. The film's protagonist, Jari, escapes from army boot camp and hides from his demanding father and the rest of the world in the safest place he knows. The bullying sergeant is left behind, but does that make life any easier? Teppo, the village oddball, agrees to help Jari, but he is also struggling with his own frightening demons.

Helsinki-based music journalist Samu Käräjävuori heads to South Ostrobothnia to interview his favorite artist, Suvi Koskinen, who has switched to organic farming. Unexpectedly, Samu encounters relatives he didn't know existed. His work assignment turns into a journey of discovery to his own roots and an experience of community and caring.

Long-Range Patrol is a story about the Squad Peltoniemi Patrol trip to the enemies backside in spring 1943. The capturing of a Russian female soldier changes the whole task from a routine mission to a battle for survival.
