Inocencio Prieto y Calvo receives a letter telling him he is the heir to his uncle's fortune of two million pesos. Not being able to read he has no idea of who sent the letter or its content. So he goes to the drugstore because the pharmacist can read the letter to him. But while waiting to be helped he sees that a young girl can read. He figures he has to be able to discover the letter's content by himself and decides he will save the letter and go to school, and wait to read the letter on his own.

Librado, an unemployed man, lives in a crowded small house with numerous children and relatives, is beaten for stealing a car antenna. His godmother and her children try to settle in his place. She then is arrested at a supermarket for stealing, however, she offers herself and volunteers a friend of hers for sex to the policemen so she can be released. She is a maid of an employee who acts subservient to his boss, a mid-level government employee at once servile who delivers speeches on sexuality in educational texts and then discusses the matter with his brother, a corrupt inspector.

Two provincial spinsters host Luis, a young man who comes to work at the bank, and flirts with Maria, who believes it is the opportunity to get married, but in reality he is an adventurer who at the bank learned that she is the second single more fortune. The first is the daughter of her employer, but she is engaged.

In a small Mexican town, two rival groups clash over water irrigation rights. While the local priest attempts to mediate, his nieces charm the landowners' sons to force a peaceful resolution.

Mi Pequeña Traviesa is a Mexican youth and family telenovela produced and directed by Pedro Damián for Televisa and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from December 8, 1997, to April 24, 1998. It is an adaptation of the Argentine telenovela Me llaman Gorrión, created by Abel Santa Cruz. The telenovela stars Michelle Vieth and Héctor Soberón. The story follows Julia González, a young woman whose dreams of pursuing a professional career are interrupted after her father is left paralyzed in an accident. To support her family, she disguises herself as a boy in order to find work. Along the way, she falls in love with Alberto Miranda, and together they must overcome social differences, family conflicts, and the many obstacles that stand in the way of their happiness.
