In the spring and summer of 1949, the People's Liberation Army launched an offensive under the orders of Mao Zedong and Zhu De, they crossed the Yangtze River and Nanjing was liberated on April 23 which signaled the fall of the KMT regime, Chiang Kai-Shek fled to Taiwan; on October 1, 1949, Mao Zedong standing on the rostrum of Tiananmen, solemnly declared the foundation of the People's Republic of China.

In the spring of 1947, Chiang Kai-shek launched a major attack on Communist base areas in Shandong and northern Shaanxi. Mao Zedong (played by Zhang Keyao) strategized and made a strategic decision to withdraw from Yan'an, using the "Kunlun Column" of the central government to contain the main force of Hu Zongnan (played by Wang Zhenjiang). Peng Dehuai (played by Lei Fei) started the Battle of Panlong, captured the enemy brigade commander alive, and captured a lot of money

The story continues with Na Xinting’s unwavering commitment to his patriotic duty, even as he faces mounting threats from multiple forces. His relationship with the Daoist leader, Shen Jiu, is a key dynamic, as Shen’s fiery patriotism shakes Na’s worldview. Meanwhile, various factions, including government troops, traitors, and foreign mercenaries, close in on the hidden treasure. The situation escalates into a tense struggle for control of the treasure and the fate of the mountain village. Na is forced to navigate complex alliances and betrayals as he seeks to protect the treasure and his newfound Daoist allies.

Na Xin is appointed as the head of a committee tasked with safeguarding the valuable relics from the Eastern Tombs, a significant cultural responsibility. However, things take a dark turn when the treasures, supposedly under careful protection, are replaced with worthless debris, and rumors of a heist spread. Accused of orchestrating the theft and betraying his duty, Na Xin finds himself standing trial, while the true criminals remain hidden in the shadows.

In the later stage of the Liberation War, with the victory of the three major battles over, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman Mao Zedong made strategic decisions, ordering Liu Bocheng (played by Fu Xuecheng) and Deng Xiaoping (played by Lu Qi) to lead a group of the Second Field and Fourth Field to advance towards Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, and Sichuan, and annihilate the remaining enemies in the southwest. On his way south, Deng Xiaoping asked railway experts he met about the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing Railway and gave political education classes to the troops heading south in a timely manner, implementing Chairman Mao's great teachings of "carrying out the revolution to the end"...

Set in 1920s, warlords in north China fight each other to gain more territories. Sun Dian-Ying is one of these warlord. He robs the imperial graves of Qing Dynasty.
