Several friends travel to Sweden to study as anthropologists a summer festival that is held every ninety years in the remote hometown of one of them. What begins as a dream vacation in a place where the sun never sets, gradually turns into a dark nightmare as the mysterious inhabitants invite them to participate in their disturbing festive activities.

In 1973, the 20-year-old Svante has a heart condition that the doctors cannot fix. When he has a breakdown on a subway platform, a strange train suddenly appears. He steps into the subway car filled with wonder, without knowing that the destination is the future. In the future he meets Elsa and together they must solve Svante's problems and figure out how to live together when they are from two different eras.

The series is named after a small part of Saltsjöbaden called Solsidan. It revolves around Alex and Anna who are expecting their first child and have just moved to Alex's childhood home in Saltsjöbaden, Stockholm County. Alex tries to get Anna to enjoy herself, and at the same time spend time with his childhood friend Fredde.

The focus is on the Gotland investigation team led by Inspector Robert Anders, who originally comes from Germany, his assistants Karin Jacobson and Thomas Wittberg, and the pathologist Ewa, played by Pippi Longstocking actress Inger Nilsson.

Together with Prime Minister Moa Halmgren and crisis expert Elias Charbel, she must deal with hysteria, corruption and the threat of military intervention. Playa del Sol is a Swedish comedy, directed by Peter Settman and Leif Lindblom and Jon Holmberg and Kicki Kjellin, which were broadcast on Sundays at 20.00 on SVT 1. The series consists of two seasons, with a total of 25 half-hour episodes. Season 1 aired from 21 January 2007 to 15 April 2007 while season 2 aired from 27 September 2009 to 20 December 2009. Starring Mikael Tornving and Henrik Hjelt. The first episode was seen by over 2.36 million viewers.

Trolltider – the legend of the Bergatrollet is SVT's Christmas calendar 2023, directed by Lisa Farzaneh from a script by Ola Norén and Roland Ulvselius. The series is a "reboot" to SVT's Christmas calendar Trolltider from 1979 with partly the same characters but a new story.
