A comedy about the young notary Thore, who mistakenly opens a private letter to his boss, lawyer Larsson. The letter says that a certain Eva Larsson will inherit a piece of land in Guatemala, containing large oil deposits. A baby photo of Eva has been included for identification, and when Thore is fired for his mistake he happens to bring the photo with him.

Melodifestivalen (direct translation: The Melody Festival) is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). The competition is a six part tour (5 heats + the final) with stops in cities across Sweden to determine the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen is also known informally as "Mello", or internationally as "Melfest".

Aboard the ship Juliana, the crew travels around the world to collect goods from different countries and bring them to Sweden in time for Christmas. During their journey, they encounter different cultures and experience adventures along the way as they gather the goods needed for Christmas.
