Four people with different values and standards meet in the urban chaos of Copacabana. Rita and Waldick come from the country, and befriend two Rio de Janeiro native guys, upon arrival: the playboy and surfer Paulo Roberto and a pimp called Tim.

Young explorer Pilar travels to the Amazon through her magic net. After meeting Maiara, a riverside dweller whose community was destroyed, Pilar and her friends seek to reunite her friend's family and prevent deforestation.

"The Cariocas", a series in ten stand-alone episodes, tells the story of ten modern-day women against the beautiful backdrop of Rio de Janeiro and its stunning urban landscapes. Our protagonists are uninhibited, adulterous, vindictive, suicidal, envious, brides, betrayed, deluded. Women with distinct beauty and quaint peculiarities, each one has a particular way of life.
