Inés visits her grandmother who lives in a town near the sea. Through their coexistence, the contrasts of a young woman and a woman meet at the beginning and end of life. Inés checks her grandmother's house and ends up finding a path that holds a mystery. In a familiarly rare climate, a journey begins that will reveal the history that was sought.

Michel, was born in Latin America, "on the other side of the world", as the script emphasizes, of a French father he hardly knew at all. He goes to Paris to start a new life. His only possession is a painting which his father left him, along with the advice: "If you ever need to sell the painting, do so in France, where it's worth a fortune." But Michel discovers that his father's tumultuous and secret past comes along with the valuable painting. Meanwhile, Clara, a middle age Spanish-Argentine mother gets a strange present from a now dying childhood friend in Buenos Aires. It's a roll of Super 8 film which brings back very strong, and emotionally charged memories from the 1970s and before.

The godmother and Perla are the world to "the little girl," a world defined by the four walls of a studio apartment with one window looking nowhere. Only space and alter the monotony, the blood transfusion sessions to which must be submitted Pearl and almost anonymous sexual encounters of the baby.

Sixteen years after she gave him a farewell kiss, Santiago is reunited with his cousin and childhood sweetheart Luciana, when she returns home to Buenos Aires from New York. When their curmudgeonly grandfather Mauricio has a near-death experience, Luciana decides to take family matters into her own hands and prepare the traditional Passover Seder.
