A Polish engineer relocates to France and becomes a legendary counterfeiter. Working solo, he crafts flawless fake francs worth millions over 14 years, earning the nickname "Cézanne of counterfeit money" for his artistic skill and output.

The 20s. In a seaside resort where everybody is bored, Albert Marvuglia, a slightly shabby conjurer, makes Marta, the wife of the wealthy bourgeois Charles Moufflet, disappear, who takes advantage of this tour to escape for good.

Johnny, a local activist, is wanted by the police after a robbery gone wrong. Paul, his childhood friend, comes back home after 15 years to find him before the police. Investigator Anna Radoszewski is also on Johnny’s trail. Thus begins a search in which memo- ries and secrets resurface. In a social context that shakes the town, everybody is looking for Johnny, who soon becomes the symbol of a revolt.

In February 1944, in a courtyard at Fresnes Prison, the Germans staged a spectacle to stigmatize a group of communist resistance fighters—all foreigners and mostly Jewish—who had been arrested a few weeks earlier. The propaganda aimed to discredit these fighters, portraying them as terrorists and criminals, even though they had managed to carry out numerous attacks against the occupiers in Paris. The red poster, plastered in thousands of copies across the country, would immortalize them in legend. They were subsequently executed at Mont-Valérien, near Paris. Missak Manouchian, the Armenian who led these fighters, now embodies this group in the collective memory as he is enshrined in the Panthéon, on behalf of all his comrades, 80 years after their execution.

At a wedding where the husband runs away, everyone has his own story to tell about the trivial misfortune of a person in love with someone that slips away. The guests paint a full picture of clumsiness, lies, and bad luck, that makes impossible, whatever the age, all attempts of seduction... or close enough !

Ondine and Paul have loved each other. When she leaves him, he swears not to love again. To prove this to himself, he pursues the beautiful Camille, whom he intends to seduce and abandon. But Camille puts a spell on Paul whom she desires for herself alone. And, while falling under Camille’s charms, Paul has to deal with the memory of his past love.
