Seven Scribes tell the story of an actor who represents tricks and false miracles. The people believe that it is the new Christ. The actor denies being Jesus, but the masses need to believe. The Scribes manipulate the faith of the mass in this fable of loves, negations and intrigues.

At the height of the 1980s AIDS epidemic, Cuban boxing champion Horacio's punishment for failing a drug test is to watch over the brash, combative Daniel, a patient in a sanatorium where HIV patients are compulsorily confined. The two collide as Daniel yearns for freedom while Horacio dreams of returning to the ring.

Marjaleena, a 60-year-old drunk ex-beauty pageant, runs a low end bar in Spain’s Costa del Sol. She discovers that her criminal husband Worm is about to get out of jail and is planning a dream life with his new cell-mate lover. Together with an uncanny crew Marjaleena sets off to get her share of her husbands millions.

Carla arrives in the Galapagos with her father, an expert biologist in turtle conservation. As he talks about raising endangered species, she faces the risks of her own species. Like the iguanas, which to survive mutated into sea creatures, Carla will transform into an Island and learn to cling to the stone, dive and wait.

The "edad de la peseta" or silly age is the term used in Cuba for the pre-adolescent period from the age of seven to the age of eleven. Set in 1958 in Havana, the year that culminates the Revolution, ten-year-old Samuel has just arrived in town with his recently divorced mother. They take up residence in the house of his eccentric grandmother Violeta, and Samuel is introduced to a new, mysterious world where Samuel finds himself an adult in comparison to his child-like mother.
